When the Warsaw climate talks spilled into overtime last week, I wasn’t unduly alarmed. Like many observers, I’ve become used to these last minute scrambles, and expected them to be resolved before the meeting closed.
But then as the minutes and then hours went by, it seemed there was a real crisis – time was running out, and red lines appeared too far apart to find a solution. Blood started to drain from anxious faces. Twitter started to fill up with climate sceptic triumphalism about the collapse of the talks…….
